Channel Africa is a digital-first, pan-African content platform broadcasting internationally to champion the African perspective. As we close Youth Month, we will be hosting a major interactive webinar focused on AI, digital technology, global tech developments, and empowering African youth to leverage these tools.
Crucially, 16 June 2026 marks exactly 50 years since the 1976 Soweto Uprising. A historic day on which thousands of black South African students courageously marched against the imposition of Afrikaans as a dominant medium of instruction, facing brutal state violence to demand a fair education and an equal future.
As a public broadcasting platform, we refuse to treat this milestone as a perfunctory, nostalgic commemoration. Our positioning must explicitly bridge the historical fight for educational justice with the modern fight for digital equity and economic liberation.
